I wanted to write a poem for world breastfeeding week that both normalised breastfeeding in public (whatever the age of the child!) and provided support and acceptance to mothers everywhere. Since I’m a fan of Dr. Seuss and always loved Sam I Am ( It’s my name!) this is what I came up with!
I will breastfeed on a swing,
And I will breastfeed in a sling!
I will breastfeed in a house,
And I will breastfeed with a mouse,
I will feed him in the rain,
And I will feed him by a train!
I will breastfeed in the shop,
I can breastfeed while I mop!
And on the beach,
And in the car,
And at the lake,
And under the stars!
This milk is just so good you see!
I will feed him here,
I will feed him anywhere!
I will feed him That’s the plan,
I will feed him, Sam I am!
